His name is Elder Nabaum, he's from Heber City, Utah. He's a great guy! I'm opening an area in a city called Juticalpa! It's really hot and humid here, but I'm loving it! We're assigned to a small branch called Belen (hence the subject line) and so far so good! We've still only met a few of the members (because thanks to Coronavirus, we didn't have sacrament meeting yesterday) but we're out here doing our best! I'm really happy and we totally called it this transfer! We've been predicting this transfer for a couple weeks now! What is wei...

Chapter 87: Happy Leap Day!

District Pedicures My Companion and I experiencing a pedicure for the first time Elder Murray dulling our only good knife Celebrating my 20 months on the mission with Cinnabon William's baptism!   Hey guys! This week it was overcast and slightly raining for 3 days which made the weather not that hot for those days, so that was a blessing William's Baptism: Saturday was leap day we celebrated with a baptism!! Our boy William was baptized on Saturday, and even though he doesn't smile in any pictures, we promise he was really happy that day! He's such a wholesome kid and he's really smart too! This week we're going to teach him about the priesthood to prep him to receive the Aaronic Priesthood this week or next! District Pedicures: Our good friend Hermana Cox is ending her mission this week and may have convinced our whole district to get pedicures together... So I got my first pedicure this week. It was an interesting experience, but I don't think it was reall...

Chapter 86: I'm not baggy but...

Image
...I only have 100 days until I'm home We've had a good week this week! Had five people we're teaching in church yesterday which is a new record in this area! It's always interesting to evaluate the different challenges in different areas, in my last area we could always get people into church (we'd literally bring them in by the truckful), but we'd struggle in getting them to commit to baptismal dates. Here, it's not so easy to get people to church, but we put our trust in the Lord and give it our best! But something that was really cool is that Yamilet and Rosy came to church! We met Yamilet about 2 weeks ago and have only taught her a couple times. On Saturday we went to teach her and we met her neighbor, Rosy and taught the two of them and invited them to come to church. AND THEY BOTH CAME it was amazing. We literally met Rosy 2 days ago and she came! So we're excited to keep teaching them and hope they also keep other comm...

Chapter 85: I ate an iguana

Image
Hey guys! It's been a fun week but I don't have too much to tell. Goodbye Elder Ordoñez: This was our first week back to a normal companionship after being in a trio with Elder Ordoñez for three weeks. Elder Murray and I get along well and we have a good time. It's been fun Getting the band back together: The APs did some interchanges with us this week, but due to some weird logistics Elder Murray and I were in a trio for a day with Elder Nolasco. For the significance of this reunion, please refer to Chapter 18 when Elder Nolasco, Murray, and I were all together in the same branch at the start of our missions. It was a good time. Iguana: The Hyde Family (Miguel's Family - see Chapter 79) killed an iguana this week and invited us over to eat Iguana Soup. It tasted like chicken! I don't have pictures because they haven't sent them to us yet, so maybe next week! Anyways that's all that I can think of for n...

Chapter 84: RIP Elder Ordoñez

Image
Hey guys! Just a quick letter today, it's been a crazy couple of weeks. Last Monday/Tuesday we were in Tegucigalpa for a Consejo de Lideres and for a Conferencia Multizona, both of which were good times, I got to see some good friends, pics to follow. Also, I've been in a trio for the last two weeks until today, RIP Elder Ordoñez. But my new companion is Elder Murray from Boise, Idaho! He and I go waayyy back and we're good friends so we're really excited now that it's just the two of us to work hard and make miracles happen! Other news: FREDDY GOT BAPTIZED!!! We've been working with Freddy for a little over 4 months now, trying to help him overcome some Word of Wisdom issues, and we've finally overcome some of the biggest obstacles these last 2 weeks and he got baptized!! Woohoo! Other other news: DAVID GOT BAPTIZED!! We've also got David's mom to start coming back to...
