Image
My first baptism! Our mission president, grilling like a boss Just some office missionaries, hanging out at the mission home on Christmas Eve Hey guys! Hope everyone had a merry Christmas! We had a pretty fun week! I had my first baptism! It was a really neat experience and I'm so grateful for the opportunity I've had to help Hermano Jorge get closer to his Savior! He truly has changed a lot since the first time the missionaries met him and we were so happy with his decision to get baptized! I'll send another email with pictures! Also we had a Christmas Eve lunch with the President and his family! He grilled ribs! It was awesome. We also spent some time playing a few games, it was nice to have a little bit of time to enjoy the Christmas season with other missionaries and our president. Stay tuned for pictures! The rest of Christmas Eve was a pretty ordinary day for us, we worked in the office like usual, had lunch with president, then visited some ...

Chapter 25: It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

But this week we've had a few fun things happen: 1. We had our Christmas activities as a mission! It was a really fun time! We had two activities, one with one half of the mission, another with the other half and well, I went to both. It was a really fun to spend some time with all the other missionaries and I'm super grateful that as a secretary I get to know everyone at least a little bit! Also I get to have Christmas dinner with the mission president and his fam and I am STOKED (I'll try to remember to take pictures) 2. IM GOING TO HAVE MY FIRST BAPTISM TOMORROW WOOHOOOOOOOOO His name is Jorge, he's in his early 50s and was a contact of Elder Chinchilla and Elder Mesa (I replaced Elder Mesa) but Elder Chinchilla and I have been the ones to teach him most of the lessons and whatnot. I'm so excited because I got to watch his belief grow and got to watch how the Gospel has blessed his life in various ways. I'll DEFINITELY have pics of the baptism t...

Chapter 24: I got hit by a train this week (figuratively speaking)

Hey guys! It has been one crazy week! Who knew the secretaries actually did any work? This last week we had transfers, which is usually really busy anyway so it was a great week to also learn about everything I have to do as a secretary. Also, there were a lot of complications with airplanes and bad weather so we had to coordinate and plan everything, cancel all those plans, eat a lot of left over food, and replan everything. It was awesome and stressful all at once. Sorry, but this email is going to be a bit shorter but here's a spiritual thought: As missionaries we teach the Plan of Salvation a lot. It's the plan that our Heavenly Father has prepared for each of us and it is perfect. It couldn't have been easy to create and organize and to think of all of the ins and outs of how to ensure that each and every one of us can have the best opportunity to reach our highest potential, but He did it and He did it perfectly. I know that God is aware of our existence ...

Elder Nolasco and I received a call on Wednesday that I was going to have an emergency transfer and that I needed to be at the mission offices at 10am the next day to receive my new assignment. That's right, I'm an office missionary now. It's been super crazy this week, Comayagüela is completely different than La Esperanza. My new area is called Jardines de Toncontín and it's awesome. ITS DECEMBER PEOPLE MERRY CHRISTMAS! We had an awesome (and busy) week this week! (with lots and lots of travelling) Here's a rundown: Normal days monday-thursday Friday: We woke up at 2am to take a bus all the way to Tegucigalpa for a special multizone conference with Elder Zeballos from the Area Presidency! That was awesome, he spoke on the importance of repentance in our lives and the lives of our investigators! It was really good! But we got back to our area past 8:00pm sooo we didn't really do too much work that day. Saturday: Light the World officially started with the International Day of Service! We travelled to Comayagua to do a combined service project with our zone (Zona Siguatepeque) and Zona Comayagua. It was awesome! But no one has sent me any of the photos they took so... Stay tuned. They also gave us awesome t-shirts Sunday: Sundays are always hectic when you and your companion are the branch presidency. I mean, really we just had a rea...
