Scorpion in the kitchen: Got home one night and found a scorpion in our kitchen, we killed it with raid. But now we're paranoid about the existence of other scorpions in our home, so we've been on red alert 24/7 Tacos with Trochez: So with the uncertainty of the transfers coming up, we made Mexican Tacos with Trochez (the member we live with - the fattest man I've ever seen) as either 1. a farewell to Elder Knowlton or 2. my farewell or 3. to celebrate a 3rd transfer together. I ate 10 tacos and have no regrets. Actividad del Libro de Mormon: Los jovenes had a Book of Mormon activity this last week where they had a stand set up and talked to people on the street about the Book of Mormon! They gave out 22 books! We now have a lot of references to contact! It was awesome! ...

Chapter 58: Please Come to Church

It has been a week. We've been working hard out here. Homeboy José: José is a very sweet, very humble old man that lives in our area. Some elders first started teaching him about a year ago, and when I first got to the area, the Elder's Quorum President suggested that we visit him. Well, we did and at first we'd only show up every once in a while because he really wasn't progressing, couldn't come to church due to his age and the distance, but he always opens his doors to us. A few weeks ago I got the impression that we should start visiting him more frequently. We've always just showed up, taught a couple principles, and read the Book of Mormon with him. He can't read due to his eyesight, but he loves to listen to us read and explain the stories to him. This last Thursday we went to visit him and read Mosiah 18 and explained baptism to him. We then invited him to be baptized and his reaction was very similar to the reaction the people gave Alma in...

When I decided to start a fire on our balcony one night. Ft. Aloe Vera drink and the bucket that melted soon after this picture was taken Fair in Santa Ana Fair in Santa Ana Great beer ads in Spanish Hey guys! This week has been a good one! Fair in Santa Ana: Last week for P-day we went to the fair in Santa Ana (near Ojojona) and played Carnival games and almost bought expensive souvenirs (I got some cheaper ones in Ojojona). Also ate pizza and played card games in the Bachelor pad the Elders have in Ojojona. It was fun. Interviews with Pres. Mejia: Had interviews with our President which was fun. We received a lot of instruction on how we can improve as a zone. Hopefully we'll be able to lift up the missionaries here in this zone and start seeing some results. Insane baptismal interviews: I did 3 baptismal interviews back to back to back on Saturday for a family that has been investigating the church for 8  years . They finally got baptized! ...

Chapter 56: Ebola doesn't exist here

Sorry for the short letter, we're going to go to Ojojona (woohoo!) for a zone activity today and we've got to leave soon. Anyway we had a multizone today where we learned about the importance on teaching and focusing on doctrines, not on applications, because if people truly understand the doctrine, their behavior will change. We also got lots of bug spray and advice on avoiding Dengue because there's been an outbreak of Dengue out here. Also any rumors of Ebola in Honduras are false. Shout out to Pres. Mejia for clearing that one up. Lilian should get baptized this Saturday! Woohoo! That's all for this week! Love you guys! Make good choices! Elder Jensen
