Chapter 3

Hey everyone!!

This week marks the halfway point of my time in the CCM!! The days are long but the weeks are short. It feels like yesterday we were unpacking all of our bags, but tomorrow we get a fresh batch of greenies in our lovely little community.

It's weird because the CCM is pretty empty. Half of the missionaries here left early this morning to go out to their respective fields and we get a ton of new guys tomorrow but today the whole building is like a ghost town. It was also kinda sad to say goodbye to all the Latinos that were only here for 3 weeks, because we got to be good friends with some of them. I taught a lot of them a few of my favorite phrases (that they probably think are common phrases in the US) so several of them bid me farewell with a 'sicky sicky gnar gnar.' Good times.

Today has been an awesome day. We woke up early to go do another session at the Guatemala City Temple, which is always a cool experience. Then afterwards we went to the zoo! It was pretty small but still a lot of fun! I got some gnarly pictures that I'd love to send in a few weeks, including a beautiful shot of me next to a giant penguin statue.
After the zoo we went to Wendy's which was surprisingly, a lot similar to the Wendy's in the States... if you ignored guards armed with shotguns in the parking lot. We also saw a guy casually walking his goats across the street. That was cool.

I'm learning lots and can't wait to get into the field and do some real work!
Love you all!
Elder Jensen IV
