Chapter 26: Christmas and a Milestone!

My first baptism!

Our mission president, grilling like a boss

Just some office missionaries, hanging out at the mission home on Christmas Eve

Hey guys! Hope everyone had a merry Christmas!

We had a pretty fun week! I had my first baptism! It was a really neat experience and I'm so grateful for the opportunity I've had to help Hermano Jorge get closer to his Savior! He truly has changed a lot since the first time the missionaries met him and we were so happy with his decision to get baptized! I'll send another email with pictures!

Also we had a Christmas Eve lunch with the President and his family! He grilled ribs! It was awesome. We also spent some time playing a few games, it was nice to have a little bit of time to enjoy the Christmas season with other missionaries and our president. Stay tuned for pictures!

The rest of Christmas Eve was a pretty ordinary day for us, we worked in the office like usual, had lunch with president, then visited some members, did a little bit of contacting, and went home. But then at midnight, the entire city blew up. I have never heard so many fireworks going off at the same time in my life. It was crazy! I felt like I was in the middle of a warzone.

Then on Christmas I got to talk to my family which was really awesome! I loved seeing their faces and talking to them for the first time in months!

Speaking of months, on the 27th I hit 6 months on the mission! It's honestly pretty crazy that I've already been here for so long, but I'm grateful that I've still got a ways to go. I'm really loving the mission and the work we're doing out here. I've had a really good 6 months and hope for another 18 months of hard work and happiness!

I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ and that He is our Savior and Redeemer.
Make good choices!
