Happy New Year everyone! I haven't written you since last year!
Happy New Year everyone! I haven't written you since last year!
Didn't have too many exciting things happen this week, we did a lot of paperwork, found some new investigators that could be really positive, and taught some lessons. So, to make up for a boring week, we'll talk about some new year's resolutions.
With each new year, many people make resolutions. This year will be a bit special, as it will be the only full calendar year where I will be on my mission. So all my goals are mission-related. Hope you weren't expecting anything different.
The thing about the mission is that it's a wonderful opportunity to grow and develop your faith, your testimony, and any number of Christlike attributes, and that's what I'm focusing on this year. First, I've set the goal to develop the attributes of diligence and hope. Diligence to use the time I've been given wisely, to do what the Lord has commanded without question nor complaint and without postponing or procrastinating obedience. Diligence is a very useful tool as a missionary, of that I can testify. As for hope, I'd like to always have an attitude of joy and happiness and peace, even though times can be tough. When we have hope, it makes diligence a heck of a lot easier.
I love the scripture 2 Ne 31:20, and my goal for this year is to press forward, steadfastly, improving in each moment how I teach, how I contact, and how I represent Jesus Christ. With a perfect brightness of hope, I can do all these things with a song in my heart and a smile on my face.
I hope you all set worthy goals for this year of 2019, it should be a good one.
Elder Jensen
