Chapter 28: The Best of Times, The Worst of Times
Hey guys!
I've had a busy week but it's been great!
This last week we had a few multizone conferences, so there's been a lot of work to do for the secretaries! But everything went smoothly and as planned so it was really fun! It's fun as a secretary because you get to attend every conference or training meeting and get to know pretty much all the missionaries! I'm super grateful for this assignment!
Anyway, on a more serious note, I just want to let everyone know the mission isn't always easy, and it isn't always super fun. A couple weeks ago I was having a pretty hard time, but this week has definitely been a lot better. It's interesting to note the Lord's hand in every situation, good and bad. He gives us trials so that we can learn, grow, and progress. He loves us and only wants what's best for us, and we make the choice of how we're going to respond to our situations. As the new Come, Follow Me manual says, we're responsible for our own learning, and that means that we need to actively seek for opportunities to learn and grow in the midst of our trials.
I love Doctrine and Covenants 121:7-8. These are the Lord's words to Joseph Smith as he suffered in Liberty Jail, but they can be applied to each one of us. I also love verse 9, because amidst my trials and challenges I have been sustained and supported by my loving friends and family as well. I'm so grateful for all of you and for all you have done to help me in my life.
I know the Lord lives, that he knows us and our circumstances, and that if we endure well, we shall be exalted. I'm loving the mission, and for now, it's the best of times.
Have a great week everyone!
