Chapter 67: #Americans Can't Count
Hey guys!
Another week has passed by! I now officially have less than 8 months left on my mission! It's crazy how fast time flies.
I'm doing well with Elder Taufalele, we're working hard and starting to see some progress with the people we're teaching, unfortunately not a lot of them came to church yesterday, but we're going to blame the explosion on that.
So here's a small collection of short anecdotes from this last week:
The explosion:
Yesterday morning, around 7am a semi-truck carrying a large tank of gasoline to refill a gas station lost control about 1/2 mile away from the church. The truck crashed into a telephone pole and a live wire touched the gasoline and a big explosion followed... it caused a lot of traffic and not a lot of people came to church because of it. We also didn't have any power for most of the day yesterday. I have some crazy pictures, but I'll have to send them next week
Americans can't count:
In a family home evening we held with a part-member family this week, we played a game where one of the missionaries holds up a certain amount of fingers and everyone else has to tell them how much it's worth (there's a trick that you have to figure out - that's the game). At some point, 6-year-old Justin decided he had enough of the game and told me "I think they just don't teach you people how to count in the United States"
he's one feisty kid
Sorry I'm pretty much out of time now, but we had a really good week, and this coming week we're going to have a multi-zone conference that I'm excited for! Also my birthday is this Sunday the 20th so don't forget!
Love you all and make good choices!
Elder Jensen
p.s. I have a lot of pictures to send but the computers we're using don't work that well so I'll have to send them next week, sorry
