Chapter 40: General Conference!

Hey guys!

We've had a good week, the highlight of this last week was General Conference! (that's two down, two more to go, by the way).

I loved the opportunity to hear the prophet's voice and the voice of the apostles and other Church leaders as well! We watched conference in the church building, with a tv in one of the classrooms so that the Elders from the States could watch it in English, my companion also joined us and it's pretty cool to see just how well is English has developed in the last few months.

Anyway, some of my favorite talks were President Nelson's talk on repentance in the priesthood session and Elder McKay's talk on the immediate goodness and power of God given in the Sunday afternoon session. It's interesting to me to see how much this conference revolved around faith, repentance, and preparing for the Second Coming. There were some powerful and moving messages.

I hope each of us was able to learn something from conference and hope that you will find a way to apply those principles in your life to bring yourself that much closer to the Savior. Hearing the inspired messages of God's servants this last weekend, my testimony of living prophets and continuing revelation was strengthened.

Also, they announced that they are going to be building a second temple here in Honduras! The members were very excited to hear the announcement, and the San Pedro Sula temple will bless the lives of many. However, I am not serving in any of the two San Pedro Sula missions, and I almost certainly won't be on the mission anymore when the dedication takes place, but it's still exciting to see how happy the members are to hear of another temple announced in their country. I also expect that the members in Tooele Valley are just as excited to have a temple announced near them.

Anyway, follow the prophets, and don't forget to repent!
Love you all!
Elder Jensen
