Chapter 41: Saturday's better

Me and my new companion, Elder Sanchez

My crib

-A neighborhood street

-The guy that sells water barrels in our neighborhood. He walks around our neighborhood shouting "agua agua ¡compre agua!" in a very distinct voice

A pulperia. It's like a convenience store that people run from their homes. They're all over the place. I'll get a picture from the inside one of these days. (ft. another water-selling guy)

The trio waiting for our pizza at the cool little pizzeria near the office (ft. the new instrument I kinda learned how to play this week)

Pineapple 100% belongs on pizza

Having Pdays on Monday is difficult as a secretary. So we changed it back (sorry Elder Zaugg).

Also my email list has been expanded to include more people, so if you're new here, welcome. I hope you're as excited as I am to receive weekly updates on Honduras for the next 59 weeks.

So now into the actual email bit:

Hey guys!

We've had a very busy week this last week. We've been preparing for the transfers that will be taking place on Monday. It's usually quite a bit of work, but this time around we have even more to do than usual because 7 missionaries are finishing their missions, meanwhile 19 are starting! We're opening 7 areas! It's insane! So we've been running around all week long finding houses/apartments for missionaries to live in, getting all sorts of materials prepped and the sort. It's been crazy. It also means that we haven't had much opportunity to do a lot of proselyting this week, but we did have a great conversation with this one taxi driver that lives in the other mission. So, you're welcome, Honduras Tegucigalpa Mission, for the reference.

Big news: I have a new companion!
A few days ago we got a call from the assistants saying that we were getting our new companion a week early so that Elder Chinchilla could train him for a few days on all the work he'll be doing as material secretary. So we've been in a trio these last few days.
Anyway, my new companion's name is Elder Sanchez. He's a nice guy from Colombia and he's pretty cool. I barely knew him before we were companions so we'll see how it goes, but I'm optimistic. Also, due to his dust allergy, we've given our house the deepest clean it's probably had since the missionaries moved into it.

Other news: I have a new assignment!
On top of being secretary, President told me that when Elder Chinchilla leaves, I'm the new district leader, which is an opportunity I look forward to.

So that's pretty much been my week this week, sorry if I've disappointed any of you. I did take some photos though, so I'll be sure to attach them. If you can't see any of the photos I send, you can also go to chandlersmission.blogspot.com where my mom posts these emails and all the pictures she receives. You can also go there to read up on all my previous emails, it's been quite the adventure.

So yea, I'm excited for this fourth and final transfer in the office, it'll be a good one. I'm also excited for the day when I spend all day every day preaching the Gospel.

Anyway, the Church is true and make good choices!
Elder Chandler Jensen
