Golf with Elder Ordoñez and Hermano Luis  Fancy orange chicken at the "country club" Hey guys! Last Monday we got transfer calls and... I'M A ZONE LEADER!! It's been a crazy week! My new area is called Piedras Bonitas, it's a ward in a city called Comayagua. It's really hot here but it's a really pretty city! It's also been really weird getting used to my assignment as Zone Leader, but I look forward to the challenges and responsibilities with this new assignment! My new companion is Elder Ordoñez from Guatemala. He's a good guy and we work really hard together. I've been sweating like crazy with the heat + the hard work. I miss my old area, but I'm thrilled to be here, the members are super nice and I have some really good friends in this zone. We're working now to get ready for Ilumina el Mundo (Light the World) which is coming up in a couple weeks! We're hoping to have a lot of references and res...

Chapter 67: #Americans Can't Count

Image
Hey guys! Another week has passed by! I now officially have less than 8 months left on my mission! It's crazy how fast time flies. I'm doing well with Elder Taufalele, we're working hard and starting to see some progress with the people we're teaching, unfortunately not a lot of them came to church yesterday, but we're going to blame the explosion on that. So here's a small collection of short anecdotes from this last week: The explosion: Yesterday morning, around 7am a semi-truck carrying a large tank of gasoline to refill a gas station lost control about 1/2 mile away from the church. The truck crashed into a telephone pole and a live wire touched the gasoline and a big explosion followed... it caused a lot of traffic and not a lot of people came to church because of it. We also didn't have any power for most of the day yesterday. I have some crazy pictures, but I'll have to send them next week Americans can't count: In...

Chapter 66: Malo e lelei

Image
Hello!  It has been an awesome week! Transfers: I'm still in Manantial, and still the district leader, but I have a new companion! His name is Elder Taufalele and he's from New Zealand! His family is Tongan and he's been teaching me some Tongan (please refer to the subject). We get along really well and we've been working hard! Luckily for us, the ward missionaries have been doing some visits for us in our week-long absence so we still have people to visit! So we've had a good week of finding and getting to know the members and visiting some references with the ward missionaries! We also had a barbecue with Trochez and the Zone Leaders today, that was lit. I'll send pictures. But anyway I don't realy have too much to tell this week, but I'll think of fun stories to tell next week! Love you all! Elder Jensen
